New faculty offices and state-of-the-art computer labs are coming to the Science Building.

Construction is proceeding well on the new floor addition to the Science Building. The project is set to be completed by beginning of the fall 2015 semester, and will provide 18 new faculty offices and two state-of-the-art computer labs. According to Susan Brizarelli, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences the new level will be the home of the Math and Computer Science Departments. “The department has some exciting things going on with majors in math, computer science, and computer management information systems,” said Dean Brizarelli. “The new construction on the fourth floor will give them the room they need.” As part of the renovations, Adelphi has been working with Ecosystem Energy Services to upgrade the fume hood and ventilation system in the Science Building. In addition to their work on the Science Building, Ecosystem is assisting in the replacement of the campus’ main boilers in Woodruff Hall, as well and the installation of two megawatt cogen plant which will result in approximately 1.5 million dollars in energy savings, as well as the reduction of the University’s greenhouse gas emissions by 4,600 metric tons per year.
